View Full Version : Dizzyness? Fatigue?

I've been having problems for about 2 months now, out of the blue. No previous bowel issues, started with an acute stomach cramping and nausea. I was initially treated for a water infection as I had bad backache and I was passing water a lot.
Anyway, after a week of antibiotics they decided I might have a kidney stone as the pain was still lingering... This eventually evolved into probable IBS since my water tests came back with no blood.

Since then I've had a constant "pain" in the left side of my stomach and back. I seem to empty my bowels regulary and don't really have D or C, just a couple of occasions and it wasn't bad.

I seem to be passing mucus at the moment with the stool, which seems to be pretty light coloured, sometimes bands of lighter and darker colour. I had one episode a couple of weeks ago where I think I passed a what looked like a blood clot, dark coloured. But I wasn't feeling too good that day and didn't examine it enough, now I wonder if it was. No blood in stool otherwise.

Along with this I seem to have developed very bad breath the last few weeks, which comes along with headaches and a coating on the tongue. I'm pretty sure the breath is not an oral issue, my teeth are in good shape and I clean and use mouthwash. I also seem to have developed sore patch around the anus which I've been treating with cream.

Today I have had a bit of abdominal pain and backache, didn't seem too bad. Then I went out shopping and I started feeling quite weak, a bit light headed and dizzy.

Since then I've been feeling very tired and My gut doesn't feel right. My GP did finally decided to send me to a Gastro but since I'm in the UK I have to wait for the NHS appoinment which could take a while.

Does anyone else feel tired? Dizzy? Sore Patches? Bad Breath? Could this all just be IBS?

Thanks

Hi Chris,

It seems that all of these are quite common symptoms when you suffer from IBS. I suffer from similar problems to you.

It is my personal belief though, that bad breath is actually something you feel you have even though you may in fact not have bad breath - I think IBS increases the sensitivity of the nasal passage to smells. (Teeth cleaning rituals are still important though http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif

Cheers, Raju.

yeah, the bad breath thing I did wonder, but my partner noticed it before I did. That's how I know it's BAD!

Hi
I am in the UK too and suffered from some of the symptoms you have mentioned such as tongue coating and bad breath , I have started feeling dramatically better since I have started varying my diet and especially eating a lot of Natural yogurt (with live cultures: biopot is good) , you have mentioned taking antibiotics , one of the bad side effects of antibiotics is that they kill both the bad and good bacteria we have in our digestive tract that have essantial roles in maintaining a healthy digestive system, taking yogurt or probiotics( you can find them in some health shops) help restore this flora and and thus a good digestion. you can reda bout that you will eb more convinced , I also used some vitamin supplements called Multibionta available in Boots ..etc , theese are vitamin supplements that have live probiotics in them ..until u can see your doctor who will hopefully help you ..
