Hi again!!!

Im wondering if its normal with IBS for the pain not to improve with a BM. It seems to me from what Ive read online , most sufferers with pain find that BM's lessen it. With me, its the opposite....i find the more my bowel moves in one day, the worse the pain gets. And for me the pain isnt a cramping pain, yet sever that its debilitating with lots of burning/pressure.
Anyone else have similar prob? And because Im finding the pain increases with each BM, is it wise to take metamucil everyday??

Thanks again in Advance!!

Tracy,

I Think I recall reading some of your other posts, and I recall that I have had some other similar symptoms as you...and here again is one of them.

I also do get pain "triggered" by a BM. Not always...and sometimes BM's do relieve the pain...but there are times when I am not having any symptoms, and then have a BM, and the pain begins.

I am not sure why this is? I wish I did. I sometimes think it may be due to the straining I tend to do...or the lack of motility in my bowels. I think my colon is sluggish, and when I sit down to have a BM, I may strain or try to get things moving, and this can trigger the cramping and pain.

I think if I would not have tried to have the BM, my sluggish colon would have been happy just sitting there, backed up with stool that wasnt moving the way its supposed to.

I have no idea if that makes any sense to you...

What are your other main complaints/ symptoms? Refresh my memory.

Thanks
A
