i have been on antibiotics for a year now because of infections after i had my son i just got off of levaquin because of severe diarhea so i went out and got some acidophilus will this help me , i also was told i have ibs, i havent heard much about these pills i am to take 2 a day with meals???

Yes, Acidophilus does work, but no, I would take it on an empty stomach, so that it does not get destroyed by stomach acid whilst eating. Keep it in the fridge also.

Can I ask why you have taken so many antibiotics? It is most certainly this that is causing all your problems and it sets up a viscious circle that you can't get out of. The more antibiotics you take, the more it kills off your good bacteria and the lower your immune system becomes so the more susceptible you are to infection and so more infection just leads to more antibiotics and so you have this viscious circle going round and round. You need to try and break it.

Antibiotics also suppress symptoms rather than curing and there are more natural methods rather than using antibiotics.

I would also suggest that you take some echinacea tincture for a while to help boost your immune system. At present, Vitamin C would probably make your diarrhea worse.
