Hello, my fibro has been flared up for several weeks and seems to be getting worse. I work full-time and it is such a struggle to get out of bed in the morning. The only thing that helps when it is this bad is to take my muscle relaxers and pain meds, but cannot do that at the office. I'm too proud to ask the doctor for a note to take time off and wonder if I'm doing something wrong to make the fibro worse. I'm also being treated for major depression and I think they feed off of each other. My life is getting up to go to work, trying to do a good job while there, coming home and going to bed early and I'm depressed about everything that I'm missing out on. I live alone so don't have the help or support I could use. Thanks for listening everyone.

(((((gentle hugs)))))

I understand your predicament. When I worked, I took my pain meds when I got home in the evening. In order to cope with the pain, I would lay down in my car during "coffee breaks" and take a nap in my car at lunch. I would come home and lay down, get up and fix dinner, lay back down, get up to go to bed. What a life! Things are better for me now that I've retired. A pain clinic might be able to help you resolve some issues. Ask your doctor for a referral.

So nice to meet you!

I could work with the percocet and tramadol and aleve. I could make it through the day until i got so sick i had to stop working. I took neurontin in the evenings for burning skin. Don't overdo it on a good day. Take it easy and enjoy it. because the flare that follows overdoing it is hell. I hope you feel better soon. I just returned to part time work and it is hard now while i am flaring. I want to go back to full time because we are broke but i just don't know how i could do everything at home and rest and see my docs and work. i have a terrible time learning and remembering and i don't know if i will be able to keep this job as i am only doing half my work. Anyway, i hope you feel better soon. do your best to get some rest. I take wellbutrin for an antidepressant. It gives me a little energy and it doesn't cause weight gain.

Hi MartinKa and (((Gentle Hugs for You))). You sound so much like me before I had to leave work.

Get up, Go to work, Go home, Go to bed. rinse and repeat. It's robotic and it is not fun.

Have you tried Pain Management? Physical Therapy? I think I live in PT and just started Pain Management for the 100th time.

What does your Rhuemy say?

Good Luck and know you found a home here. A ton of great advice will be given you.

Take care.

Belle~

Hi martinka. I know your routine, did it for years and no it isn't fun. I live with my hubby though, sometimes that was more work...giggle. Anyway just some suggestions to help, if you don't do any kind of exercise it could be very helpful for you. Just a few stretches in the morning to start off. Maybe a walk after work for a few minutes. Then cutting out sugar from your diet could be helpful. Also caffeine, forgot that one. There have been some good threads that give other diet no no's. My big one is sugar. I only suggest these things which are hard to follow when you don't feel well, because I am flaring myself right now and I have not been following a very good diet or doing the exercise I should. Take some of those wonderful warm relaxing baths others have suggested, wrap in a warm comfy bathrobe, drink some soothing tea, relax with a good book or movie and sail away to peace and tranquility. I know how hard it is to be in your position, just hang in there and do all you can to make yourself feel better. Come here and vent when you feel like it.

Thank you everyone for the great support and recommendations! I've never been to a pain specialist and that might be my next step. I see my rheumatologist again in two weeks and will see if he can recommend someone. When I was able to get massages every other week that was so helpful, but it got to be so expensive. Same thing with PT--it's $40 each visit and most doctors want you to go several times a week.

I splurged this morning and had a cleaning company come in to clean from top to bottom, move the furniture and vacuum underneath, you know all that stuff we can't do... If I'm working full time, I should at least be able to have this done monthly. I'm so excited to get home and see how nice the house smells!

Again, thanks for the positive feedback and suggestions, it makes a world of difference to me.

Sounds like we are soulmates!...My day is the same, waking up feeling like I am literally going to die, take a Tramacet wait till it kicks in then get on with it. I feel like I am waiting for something...I don't know what but if I just get through that day! What if we try something new at home...learn a new craft, an online class anything that will give us something to look forward to after work. I have 4 daughters and 1 granddaughter that take up that little bit of time before I can't stand to be awake anymore at night which usually comes too early. What a rut I'm in too! Take care...Colleen
