It's about Pfizer and Eli Lily and their Medicines Lycera and Cymbalta.
Fibromyalgia is the number 3 illness behind Cancer and AIDS according to Pfizer and Eli Lily...but there are Doctor's denying Fibromyalgia exists...( to bad they can't have Fibromyalgia for a month or so:mad: )
BUT the good news is that Fibromyalgia is finally getting in the Headlines, on Television, etc so the NEWS IS GETTING OUT.
It did say that once a person is diagnosed with Fibro that that person becomes worse when they are 'Labeled' and goes on Disability when there is no good reason to quit work (I quit a highpaying job that I had been with for 20 years to collect a Check that is 3 times less than what I made? I don't think so. I loved my job and I miss it:( plus I have a very high pain tolerance.
ANYWAY, Fibro is getting PUBLICITY again and hopefully this will help some people to understand what we go through and more medical research will happen:)
Have a Nice Evening All:)

I am with you on this. I also have a high pain tolorance' I found out I have fibromyalgia about two yrs. Ago. I also slipped and fell in my newly built home about four yrs. Ago all story short, hit my head on door jam knocked myself out, broke my femur completely off my hip. I was in lots of pain before I fell with sicatic (spelled wrong) pain down right leg. I was even using a cane that day. I laid in ER for 6 hrs. Till they xrayed me. They only caught my broken hip and femur. Over the next 3 yrs. They finally found out I have fibro., stenocis, bluging dics, a bad spine. I was a homemaker and still am so no disability for me. I had a huge career for yrs. Raising second daughter at home. You are so right, no hard working women would give up her income to fake fibro. Let them live with the pain that you never know is coming for a week. I'm convinced there are plenty of men out there with fibro. The medical community just hasn't come up with a name yet. Let's get real, lots of men live in chronic pain, but since the docs aren't sure yet about fibro. It is just a women illness and half the medical community feels since fibro. Belongs to women (it is probably just us women over reacting). I call it the way I see it. Hope we have a good day tommrow, since we never know when our fibro. Will act up.

Belle this was very interesting. I also have a high pain tolerance and I have read that people with fibro have a high pain tolerence, but a low pain threshold. In other words we live with a great deal of pain, pain that most couldn't endure but because we have had so much pain for so long, we are worn down and we feel that pain sooner. That is the way it was explained in wherever I read it. Seriously, if most men had our kind of pain they would be getting much better treatment a lot sooner from more specialist docs. They wouldn't get the standard, your just stressed or your not getting any younger or this is psychological. There are men out there with fibro and they hurt just as much as we do. We have some on the board, and they bring some good insights.
I am just glad the word is getting out. I am sure other diseases went through the same thing before they were accepted too. So we will be the pioneers and let the naysayers put their two cents in. One day we will be vindicated.
