I'm discontinuing my Yaz this month to see if it has been contributing to my fatigue. My pms/irritability has really increased! I already take 5HTP.. about 100mgs a day. Everything else that i take is primarily for sinus symptoms

thanks

You might try adding a B complex vitamin. It helps to metabolize the 5-HTP better. By the way, if you're not already doing so, take the 5-HTP on an empty stomach. That will also speed up absorption. Additionally, birth control pills actually deplete many of the B vitamins, so taking the B complex should put back what was lost.

There are lots of herbs you can buy that help with the symptoms of PMS, like black cohosh, chaste tree, and dong quai. I take a Meno Formula capsule that contains all of the above made by Naturally Nova Scotia.

Good luck finding something that works for you!
