If you have been diagnosed with chlamydia, unless you have "disseminated chlamydia" involving the entire uterus and also affecting the liver, it is almost impossible to determine how long you've had it.
If you have just a localized, asymptomatic infection of chlamydia which has NOT involved anything past the cervix, it's usually fairly easily treated with no adverse consequences; however, if there is a lot of inflammation associated with the chlamydia and it has progressed to what is known as "pelvic inflammatory disease", the inflammation can affect the fallopian tubes. If it happens repeatedly then the tubes can scar down increasing the risk of ectopic pregnancy as well as infertility.

Then you should probably be fine. They probably gave you a one time dose of azithromycin 1000mg and perhaps a single dose of ciprofloxacin as well. Am I correct?
Just make sure you practice safe sex. If you actually had pelvic inflammatory disease, you'd be in a lot of pain and it would be difficult to walk hence the term the "PID shuffle". I hope you feel better and practice safe sex! :)
