Boy, I sure hope not and will be watching this thread for replies. In case you haven't figured it out, I take Forteo and certainly don't want any extra pounds.

Thanks and best of luck to all!

I was on Forteo for 15 months and lost 5 pounds, but I also changed jobs where I walk for 2 hours daily, so that could have something to do with it too.

I suspect your weight loss is due to all that walking. Good for you! I know walking is good for us and I enjoy taking my dog for walks several times a day. Haven't lost 5 pounds, but that's another story.

Thanks for the reply.

I didn't gain any weight but there was some more fat or something around the waist. There's an old post about weight around the waist from Forteo on this same topic. I don't know what it was but I sort of recall that my abdomen stuck further out. Maybe some what swollen from the repeated injections.

I remember seeing the "weight gain" questions before too Taape!

If I remember, it seems some thought a 20 lb. weight gain and that ol' spare tire look was what may happen with Forteo.

When you mention seeing more "mass" around the middle...I wonder if this shot is similiar to the gold-shots my daughter was on when a youngster for
Rheumatoid Arthritis.......she got 'em in the behind, and because the gold was not water soluble, she has extra padding back there! Perhaps the Forteo is the same way.....???

About that weight gain...I'm already a chubby girl...and after almost 2 years on the Forteo.,.I'm 3 lbs. down....do you suppose that means I might have LOST 23 lbs. in reality?!?!?!............(how I wish!).....Pam

Pedal Pusher - your funny. Weight gain could be from eating more calcium rich foods or anything I guess. I think it was more the spare tire look that everyone didn't care for.
