My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1995. He has recently been hospitalized for a kidney infection, and then spent 2 months in a rehabilation facility. He was diagnosed upon entering the hospital as end stage Parkinson's. Now I have him back home, with therapists coming to the home, but he seems to be weakening and is very tired all the time. Does one come out of end stage Parkinson's and then reenter the stage again? How often does this happen? At what point do you consider Hospice care?

I wish I could help you but this is new to me. Your story struck me because my husband had surgery a few months ago, and he just got so much weaker after the surgery, almost as if the surgery accelerated the Parkinson's.

I hope you can get an answer. Are there any support groups locally for you? Are you his main caregiver and the therapists temporary? I wish you the best. I just joined this board the other day and will be checking back here often.
Take care.

Yes, I'm the 24/7 caregiver. There is a caregiver support group and I go when I can which now is not every week. Thank you for your kindness.
