I thought I had the worst, sure feels like it at the times. Try the chicken and rice and chicken and rice and imodium, citricel(SP), equalactin and probiotica( I'm sure after all that diarrhea all the good bacteria is depleated, yogart too, (stoneyfeild has more cultures if you can find it).

As my name implies, I am a way frustrated one. I can fully relate to the watching of what you eat, being close to the bathroom, frustration and depression about the whole thing. My case was even more frustrating when I was trying to explain it to several people and they think I am joking.
The best advice I can think of is be proactive and learn all you can able the condition. Everyone is unique therefore the triggers that cause your IBS to flare up is slightly different for everyone.

A couple of questions?
1) Have long have you suffered the condition?
2) Have you seen a doctor?
3) Do you have any suspicisions about what may be causing the flare-ups?

i have had the condition maybe 5 years but its only got worse in the last 2,i have seen a doctor but they dont really know what to suggest.i have another appiontment tomorrow morning to really have it out and find out if there is a specialist i can see.i got a pretty good idea that my mind is what is triggering it off the most, the more i think about it the more i wanna go,any suggestions to get this out of my mind?i have been looking at hypnotherapy.

Well, I wouild definitely go to a doctor, and I would see what he says, Do not be surprised if he says he cannot find anything at first glance,It has been known to happen to take some time
If you feel that the IBS is triggered by a food than I would track what I eat everyday.
What type of symptoms and problems are associated with this? Do you have diaherra, constipation, fatigue and cramps?

You stated that it could be mental in nature. Not to be personal but have you had a very traumatic experience recently. As I have found and many others will support (crossed fingers) Your emotions can affect your IBS significantly.

I would suggest making a food diary that would track when you eat and what you eat. Then document what symptoms you have and when they occur. This document may help your doctor find anything that may be a trigger.

Good luck

I've often wondered if we, IBS people are the helper types that don't do what we want and try to please others--that we take so much poop that it starts coming out of our ears--I know I am kind of like that, but I think I'm getting better about speaking up for myself. I know I have a seventy year old mother which I have been co-dependent for for years and she can bring IBS on me within minutes. And my almost grown children are trying it on me. The mind is so powerful with this ibs stuff.
