Hi all,
If you are ever on the Bowel Disorder site then you know about my symptoms but here they are..To make a long story short...for about 6 weeks I have been constipated for the most part (maybe Ill go once a week..a little piece) Fiber didnt seem to help, an enema barely worked, ex lax worked but cramping. Colonic cleansing just let out water. If I eat I get very bloated and can look a few months pregnant. I have gained about 4 lbs. A bottle of Miralax didnt even work.
so i went to a specialist today and he gave me Zelnorm and told me to take Benefiber. He says I have IBS, spastic colon and maybe I get bloated because of air being trapped. I had an x-ray and it showed nothing but stool. The people in the other room said I dont need a colonosopy and he is just wanting to make more money. What could be my problem then?

Colonoscopy is the surest and the best method to determine if you have anything abnormal in your Colon. I'm not a doctor, just a person with IBS, but I don't think an X-ray is an appropriate method to examine the Colon. Maybe in your case the stool blocked whatever was the view anyway. Now, who are these "people in the other room" you are referring to? Personally, I wouldn't trust their opinion that much unless they had considerable medical knowledge.
