Hmm. I'm not sure if I should assume you are the guy in this relationship but I will given the name and for sake of being able to respond. You cannot necessarily prevent your partner from getting HPV. You can reduce the risks through the use of condoms but HPV is transmitted through skin to skin contact. This includes the skin and mucous membranes which includes through oral sex. HPV can be contracted without ever having intercourse. Often it is transmitted because the skin surrounding the unprotected condom is infected. Since there is no test for men, and they usually show no symptoms, they pass it along without ever knowing it. Even if she shows up with it a month from now does not necessarily mean she got it from you. It is almost impossible to determine from whom a woman contracts HPV because it can be dormant for months or years so unless she had absolutely no genital contact with anyone else you cannot specifically pinpoint one individual as having given it to you. If your partner is under 26, I would suggest she get the Guardasil vaccine which can help protect again the 4 major types of HPV (two low risk and two high risk).
