i had sex on thursday and on saturday i had an painful outbreak i went to the doctor on monday and they told me it was herpes did my current partner give it to me i been with him for a year and and havn't had sex with any while i was with him.

First how did they diagnose you as having herpes? Did they do a culture of a lesion/sore or a blood test or what? Which type did they tell you and did they give you the numerical values of the blood test if it was done?
Hopefully, they did a culture and a blood test at the same office visit. If the culture comes back positive but the blood test comes up negative for herpes, it USUALLY means that this is a new infection for you.
If they did a blood test - verify it was an IgG blood test and not the unrealiable IgM.
