Has anyone have any information on these two commerically produced substances. Do these substances contain wheat or a grain derivative?

Most food starches come from grains such as corn or wheat. Hydrolyzed vegetable protein comes from soybeans, thoug occasionally from wheat gluten.

In reading the labels, It is very difficult to determine if the starch is made from wheat or corn. I wonder if enough is in a particular food to cause an IBS-D. For those who are wheat sensitive, my theroy is that this should be avoided altogether to protect your system

OK, this is more confusion, I just ate some soup and then experienced a mildly intense IBS-episode. The broth was canned broth and it contained both MSG and hydrolysed soy protein. Could these ingrediants caused this problems?
