Just wanted to know what you guys eat for breakfast. I'm starting school pretty soon & I'm not sure what to eat or avoid. My symptoms are always bad in the morning....then they go away in the afternoon. Thanks

If milk doesn't aggravate your symptoms (it doesn't for me) then I would highly recommend a bowl of cereal that is rich in fiber. Raisin bran, the oatmean squares, or any of those are good. They help me a lot...but that's just me, everyone's different.

I do not tolerate milk very well so I usually try a nutri-grain bar or a few slices of toast. Yougurt is also a great breakfast if you can have it.

For me, milk and grains are not good for me, therefore toast, cereal, milk and even oatmeal is out. If you are not sure about what is triggering your attacks, you may have to consider what you are eating the previous evening.

For me I eat rice, and egg whites

I have IBS-D and for me a bowl of oatmeal porridge is the best breakfast by far.

for me I have ibs-c. I usually have anything bland. I wake up and yes the worst is in the morning. Does anyone know why? I usually have wheat bagel with eggbeaters. or a protein bar. no milk or yogurt./

teen_in_pain, my symptoms are identical to yours. I wake up in pain, and it doesn't go away until around the afternoon, when it finally usually wears off. I've found the best thing for me to have for breakfast is a smoothie. I put raspeberries, blueberrys, or bananas in a blendar with soy milk and protein powder (that you can buy at GNC) and it really helps my digestion, plus it gives me energy. You should try it too, since you have morning pains also.

I think you should try eating yogurt. Even if you are lactose intolerant --the process of making yogurt uses up the lactose so it should be OK.

Many people have problems with eating or drinking soy products --- it messes with your harmones. I suggest you become more knowledge about it before using it daily.
