Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed as having IBM after a barium enema, and does anyone know how reliable a barium enema is?

Rose Sponsor suzyshop1 08-28-2003, 11:56 PM Me, i was diagnosed with ibs when i was 17 im now 46.When they pumped the barium into my bowel it went into spasms much the same way it happened in my esophagus.when it comes to diagnosing problems of the bower its pretty accurate. The reason they use the barium is because its coats the inside of the bowel making it easier for something to show up on xray. suzyshop1 08-28-2003, 11:58 PM Bowel not bower i meant. ------------------ |
