I really liked him, and he agreed to take me on as a regular patient. It is a practice, but I don't mind seeing the other doctors. They are all specialists, and it is The Jefferson Multiple Sclerosis Center.

Mini-vent....the radiology place only gave me the films for my cervical spine. He was only able to read the report for the thoacic spine MRI.

Anyway...he looked at my brain MRI and felt that there was area of abnormality, however he was not 100% certain that it is MS related (area of demylination).

That said, he did note the lesion (one) on my cervical spine and was purely going off the report that there was a lesion on my thoracic spine. I was irritated because I wanted HIM to read the film....if I wanted the doctor at the radiology place to evaluate me, I wouldn't be seeing an MS specialist.

He basically is keeping me status quo at this point (medication-wise), and wants to see me back in 3.5 months at which time he'll do a follow-up MRI. I did ask him about something for the mild dizziness, and he gave a prescription for Antivert. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try.

Actually it is pretty good news. As you are just meeting the doctor, I would not think he would announce a diagnosis immediately. 3.5 months is a short time. Just keep on keeping on!

hey chicky!! Thats great news! Im so glad you liked this guy...and its a real shame that they didnt give you all the MRIS, but you know, if you call them, they'll probably send them to him via courrier- or give him a way to view them online...he can still see them, before your next appt.
Im guessing he didnt say much about you being superwoman when it comes to Rebif? He was okay with the fact that you dont have the normal issues with the interferon? (Lucky, Lucky you!) Dr Leist is a good guy- he has such a wonderful reputation- Im sure if there was anything you needed to know, he would have told you! Im really happy that you had a good experience...now cross your fingers for me- my MS specialist appt is tomorrow!
Hugs
Nikki
