View Full Version : Constipation After Antibiotics And Tooth Extraction

Not sure if this is a cause or a coincidence as I have had other teeth extracted and never experienced constipation which has now been going on for a couple of weeks.

I was on Cephalexin 1,500 milligrams a day for two weeks and then had the extraction done. I was on a soft diet up until a few days ago and still cannot eat chips, crackers, nuts, etc., for another month or so.

Can the antibiotics and the soft diet cause constipation? Could the extraction itself have caused digestive trauma (it affected my sinuses as well due to placement of the roots of the upper bicuspid).

Have been on Phillips Colon Health with no relief yet. Ex-Lax I have been taking once a week helps for a few days and then everything goes back to being bound up. Any suggestions or ideas how to resolve this?

Thanks.
