Hey all,
Anyone heard of the Fecal Calprotectin test?
h**p://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faecal_Calprotectin
I just discovered it after looking for an alternative to the slew of tests my GI doctor wanted (colonoscopy / barium X-ray / multiple stool samples).
Were you made aware of this test by any of your GIs? It seems like a cheap, easy and informative test that could simplify diagnosis for many. I don't see this test discussed much on this forum... odd that it seems not very well known -- my GI wasn't even aware of the test, and they are now trying to determine if it is a viable alternative (although I am demanding it!).
