Well I just (kinda) got the PCOS DX from my endo. I say kinda because all he did was look over my labs that were sent to him from another dr I saw for some hormone testing I wanted done. My testosteron was thru the roof and after looking at the labs the endo said PCOS. The dr that did the labs is out of a GYN office and she seemed to think it was something more to do with my adrenals since my labs were 2 to 1 and with PCOS they are usually 3 to 1 she said. Whatever that meant. Lol.

Any ways I am requesting a copy of my labs that were done and will post them as soon as I receive them as well.

I also have thyorid disease and am in treatment for that. My endo wants me to go on birth control pills and watch my thyroid meds as he said those will eventually need adjusting because of the birth control pills.

The other dr that initially did the labs said yea birth control pills could help IF that is the problem and IF my blood pressure allows it. It was running a tad high when I saw her. Other times it runs just fine.

So I guess my main question would be do people with PCOS suffer from fatigue and genreal body aches and headaches?? I have SEVERE fatigue and body like flu like symptoms ALL THE TIME! :( No matter what I try to do, take, eat, drink, NOT eat, NOT drink I still feel horrid...

I also have very low ferritin which I am taking OTC iron for as well....

I just need some good help!! LOL.:dizzy:

Hey.. Im not sure how helpful Ill actually be but I know how you feel.. I was overwhelmed with questions when I found out I had PCOS last spring. My doctor put me on birth control to try to help and it didnt really. I ended up having to have a laparoscopy to remove cysts as well as endo and I am now trying to have a baby so methods for me to control it are limited to fertility drugs. Each person is different. I suffer from alot of pain. I can always feel the cysts bursting. I have fatigue as well. Some of your syptoms also sound to me like firomyalgia. Maybe you could look into that as well. Best thing to do is to talk to your doctor and describe everything youre feeling. Yahoo and Google were also a big help to me. Many helpful sites popped up. Good luck!

Thank you!! Yea I was given the fibro DX a few years ago as well. But they might be due to my throid problems plus the PCOS plus whatever else is going on. LOL

I have seen sooo many dr's. And actually just found one that I really like. She is the one that did all the initial testing. I did have to go and pay out of pocket to see her as she mainly deals wit bio-identical hormones which I was very interested in. But let me tell you it really has been worth every penny I spent to see her so far. I mean I am still able to call her and talk to her and get her opinion on things and I am not paying her anything anymore. So that is kewl!

She seems to be really concerned where I have seen TONS of other dr's over the past 3 yrs that really never seem to care at all. And most of them just want to pass me off onto some anti-depressants without investigating other issues first. That BUGS me to no end!!! I know I do not need them. That is not the issue for me.. For others yea they are great but for me there are things going on with my body that they need to figure out..

Ok I will get off my soap box. HAHA!!

Thank you though for the help. I am waiting for a phone call today from the dr to maybe start some new meds and see if they help at all.
