My wife as stage four breast cancer and they will not be able to operate as it is wrapped around her main artery on the left side. She as gone to Mayo and they have said they could do no more for her if this round of chemo does not help. She know has an infection Kedney, I don't know what the DR have told her but with all that I have read it is a cronic kedney infection but we don't know what the cause is. Does any one know what to look for so I can make sure she gets to the hospital if she gets worse?

You should ask your doctor questions until you get all the answers you need. You have a right to know, and you should not feel like a bother to anyone. The Mayo Clinic should have some support person or group for you. I am very sorry for your pain. My prayers are with you.

I would get a second opinion. I am not sure what treatment your wife is on, or what others she may have tried. I am no expert, but I know that there are options for the type of chemo a doctor tries, and if one does not work, then they often move on to another one. The kidney infection could be caused by the metastasis. My mother's kidney's were near failure due to a blockage caused by a tumor. She received radiation to the pelvic area to relieve the pressure, and had nyphrostomy tubes inserted to help drain her kidneys, as well as heavy duty antibiotics.

Do you go with her to her doctors appointments? If not, you should go with here next time to ask the doctor to help you understand her treatment plans.

I wish you all the best. Take care.
