Hi. I am having stabbing back pain that started earlier today and was wondering if that could be kidney stones or maybe another kidney problem. Any info would be most appreciated as I am trying to sort this out before seeking dr's help. Thanks!

The best thing that you can do is to see a doctor. I had really bad pains in my left kidney. I thought it wasa backache, but it turned out to be ann infrction. The doctors will be able to do an ultrasound and decide what it is. I wouldn't wait to long, it could cause serious damage.

Thanks for your reply. I did see the doctor but it turned out to be a pulled muscle in the kidney region..no infection. Thank goodness!! He gave me Skelaxin, Flexeril, and Lortab for pain. I am doing much better now. Thanks again!
