I was put in the hospital a couple of weeks ago and diagnosed with a kidney stone. They said it was small and that it should pass. They found a pain killer to ease the pain and sent me home after two days. I still have not passed this stone and the doctor just keeps saying give it some more time. Does anyone know any home rememdies that might cause this thing to pass?????? Someone told me the other day that he drank a bunch of water and rolled around in the floor to pass his. I haven't tried it yet but I'm getting deseperate.

I just had my first kidney stone about a month ago. I didn't go to the doctor until about a week after my initial pain, and he told me that it was already well along the path to being passed and should take no more than a week. About two weeks later I had passed nothing but a few blood clots, and all of a suddent one day I had some of the most intense pain in my life. It was so bad I couldn't hold anything in my stomach, not even water, so I went to the E.R. to get an IV to stop myself from getting dehydrated. I was really scared because it was supposed to be done already, but the doctor told me to just keep eating pills and give it time. About a week after that I finally passed it one day. Moral of the story -- it often takes a lot longer than the doctor initially thinks, and the only thing YOU can do is drink a LOT of water and give it time. You should be able to feel it passing into your bladder in some extent. Give it time.
