My son has an abnormally high level of calcium in his urine. At the onset of this condition 1 year ago, after one week of pain, and experiencing increasing difficulty passing urine, he was unable to pass urine at all. After a supra-pubic drain and a cystoscope (finding no stone or cause for blockage) the pain ceased. 6 months later the pain returned and he was put on a diuretic drug for 2 weeks. (The pain ceased after 2 days on the drug.) A further 6 months on, the pain has returned and despite taking the diuretic drug again, an experimental week on a bladder relaxatant drug, another cystoscope (finding nothing untoward), and scanning (showing he has calcification in his prostate) the pain is constantly with him and has been for 2 1/2 months.
He used to eat an enormous amount of meat (which has been curtailed for 9 months) and he drinks a lot of water. He describes the pain mostly as an ache in the end of his penis, but at times it becomes "like a sharp pricking feeling every 10 seconds where my penis joins my tummy".
Does anyone out there have any information about this complaint.
Thank you for your time
