I had my first abnormal pap in May 2002 (ascus).
Then I had a good colposcopy (no-biopsies)July 2002.
Then in Nov 2002 I had another ascus and positive HPV.
Then I had another colposcopy, she took one biopsy, they called me a week later and said it was begnin, come back in 6 months.
So June 2003 I had another bad pap LSIL I think.

Now she wants to do a LEEP. I want to just go in for a colp-no biopsy, just to see what it looks like now and then make the decision. I'm not sure what I'm going to do but your stories have helped.

Has anyone had laser ablation? I know its expensive but is sounds so much better than the leep?

DEAR SANDY...
I THINK A LEEP IS LASER..THERES NO BLEEDING...WW YOUR STORY IS PRETTY CONFUSING. WHY WERE YOUR RESULTS SO BLURRY OR MIXED UP? MY LEEP IS ON THE 23RD...HOPEFULLY ITS NOT PAINFUL...BYE NOW

Ymg....
My results aren't really blurry. Its just that the pap showed cell abnormalities but the colpos didn't. In a pap smear they can see the nucleus of the cell where as the colpo is just the naked eye times 10! So maybe it was just early stages or the disease.

I'm going to so some research tomorrow to see if any other doctors on my insurance plan can give me some more options. I was hoping this thing would heal up by itself but I don't want to risk letting it get worse so I will probably schedule my 3rd colpo in 13 months for next month.

But my guess is I will probably will end up having a leep done in the next couple months.

I don't smoke, ever.
I only had 3 sexual partners.
I didn't have sex until I was 19.

But I'm 100% sure I have abnormal cervical cells from HPV!!!

BUT I also have a compromised immune system (from childhood thyroid problems and other autoimmune issues) which may be the reason why I haven't been able to fight off the virus myself, yet.

I just had another abnormal pap LSIL. My doctor wants to do a (non-extensive) leep. But I am going to take 4 months and aggressively try some natural therapy that sound very promising. After that if it hasn't progressed to at least ascus I will have a leep done.

Good Luck to everyone!!!!
