I hate to see a question go unanswered. I have not had this particular operation yet. I am scheduled for a sigmoid colectomy on April 1st. (Yep, I'm having surgery on April Fool's Day!) But I have had other major surgeries and it does not seem unreasonable to me that you are still feeling tired 2 weeks post-op. Your body has had a major trauma and is busy repairing the damage that was done to it. That takes energy and our bodies do tend to force us to rest after something like that to conserve energy for the healing process. Of course, if you are really concerned you should ask your Dr about it, but I'd say it's normal. What about those of you who HAVE had this surgery? What was yuor experience?

It took me a full 6 months before I quit being so tired I didn't fall asleep on the couch after work every night. It's a major surgery and trauma. 2 weeks is nothing.

I had a sigmoid colon resection three years ago and it took me all of six months to begin feeling stronger. Mine was an open surgery which may take a bit longer to get over. You are doing about as expected. Your body knows what you need- try to follow the signals. Rest is a big part of recovery- as was said here-two weeks is very early to expect to be your old self. Good luck to you - this board is a great place to ask questions and share your worries with others who have been where you are right now...Marmex :)

Even if it was laproscopic, surgery is an assault on the body and it takes time to recuperate.

I had open surgery a few years ago which involved them handling my colon. I was a super fit young man who went to the gym 3 or 4 times a week for many years. It took me many months to recover and not feel tired all the time like you. You will get there it just takes time.
I'll be joining you soon because I most likely will need the same op again.
You hang in there!!!
