I take endep (elavil) to help modulate my pain but am sure it's causing weight gain since my dose went to 37.5mgs. My dr suggested perhaps cymbalta as it's also less sedating than endep. Can anyone give me any feedback? Putting on weightmakes me feel crap and I already have to take care because I can't run anymore. I'd also like to have more energy during the day but fear the jitters. Thanks to all for any advice or thoughts.

The prescribing information mentions that it can, but it didn't work that way for me. For about the first month I had no appetite at all, but after that it evened out. I also had to take it in the morning or I would be awake all night, most people get sleepy from it. I think you would have to try it and see, I think it's different for each person.

Thanks Tigger - the morning dosing does seem to be the way to go. I have reactions to some types of medications, so I'm a little hesitant to try it. I have stopped the elavil/endep now though, so I shall ask the dr next time I go. Thanks again :)
