Your doctor should tell you what the next step is. The next step might depend on your age.
My paps have been good (every year) since I was 19 (and that is 25+ years ago). My HPV/dna test came back positive for high risk HPV. My next step was a colposcopy with an ECC. But then I was 45 at the time. If you are under 30, then your doctor might wait and recheck in 4-6 months.

Every year my paps had been normal until now I'm 38. I received my pap results indicating they were normal, but under comments its stated to see nurse for further instructions. I call in and over the phone they tell me I tested positive for hpv and if I wanted further explanation I could make an appt to see my Dr and all I got from her was come back and retest in 3 months. I've been with my husband for almost 20 yrs since I was 18 so its obvious I got from him, could it have taken this long for it to appear from the woman he had prior to marrying me. To my knowledge he has been faithful.
