Hello!

I know there is at least one other thread about breakthrough bleeding while on this BC pill, but I just need to vent my frustration.

I started this pill a week and one day ago. On Monday, I started bleeding as heavily as I would on my period. It doesn't seem to want to stop - except at night. It's as though taking the pill at 10 PM "stops" me until about 10 AM the next day.

Something like this happened to me years ago when I tried the NuvaRing. The physician told me it was normal. Until I bled for a solid 3 weeks straight, going through a tampon AND pad every hour. Now I'm worried that that's going to happen again, with these pills.

My question is this: should I keep taking the pills or should I stop? Should I give it, say, the length of one of my normal periods and see if the bleeding ceases? I'm just scared after the NuvaRing issues I had.

I am so frustrated by this. I have a very active job and lifestyle and the reason I went on the pill was so that I could have some sense of regularity regarding my cycles.

I do not know if you know this or not, Micronor is typically given to ladies that are breastfeeding. It is safe for breastfeeding mothers to take, I guess. I have never had a baby and my clinician's assistant made an error and gave it to me for three months before I read up on it. I called three different pharmacies and none said I should be on it. It is associated with a lower effectiveness than typical BCP pills. I don't know if you have a child or not, but just thought I would let you know in case your office made an error, as mine did.
