My doctor's nurse just called me and told me my doctor wants me to see a surgeon. This is base on the biopsy results: Bening fibroglandular breast tissue with fibrous mastopathy including cystic change, apocrine metaplasia, papillomatosis and intraductal hyperplasia of the usual type.
I don't understand what this mean, the only good thing is that what ever it is, is benign. Can somebody explain this to me in plain english? I'll really appreciate it. I have to make an appointment for the surgeon as soon as my insurance apporove it.:confused::confused:

The only part I understand is the intraductal hyperplasia. - It means the cells in the milk duct are dividing at a faster than normal rate.
- Which just means that there is a remote possibility that the hyperplasia could progress to breast cancer. As I understand it, though, having hyperplasia does not necessarily mean this will happen, but they probably just want to make sure.
