I was recently Dx'd with PCOS, and the doc has recommended ovarian drilling. Has anyone had this procedure done? Did it take long to conceive afterwards? Thank you for any help..

Hi Summer I had ovarian drilling done in Oct 2007. I concieved in Feb 2008 with the use of Gonal-F injectables. My DD is now 4 1/2 months old.

Good luck

My doctor also recommended ovarian drilling and I after reading about it I opted not to have it only b/c I read that the scar tissue can be worse than what is going on right now. I am taking metformin, and after taking it for 5 months I was pregnant. i guess it is really a personal decision. goodluck and I hope whatever you decide works best for you, I know how hard it is to not be able to conceive and go into the dr.s office and be surrounded by pregnant women....best of luck to you .

*update*

I did lots of reading, and was pretty nervous, but DH (a nurse) told me not to worry. We got to the hospital and found out that I am pregnant!!

I guess loosing weight really did help.

Hi Summer, I know everyone's opinions differ, and that is why when the ginocologist suggested ovarian drilling, I did not even consider it, yes the chances of getting pregnant is greater, but to put your body through this, I can't help wondering what the after effects later in life can be because of this... I am at a homeopath at the moment, and I have never felt this good, he has put me on herbal medicine, which can treat the actual PCOS and get rid of it. I have seriously never felt this good in a long time! I would urge all woman out there to try homeopathic medicines first before going to extremes like ovarian drilling.

This is my good deed of the day, use it, don't use it :)

But I hope that woman will at least consider googling it or trying it...

Baby dust to all! I will keep everyone up to date regarding my treatment.. and give hope to millions of woman when it does succeed, as I know how it feels to be desperate and feel hopeless...
