If your partner has HPV and u already got it to, is giving them oral sex a bad idea? i already have before, but didnt know if it would get in my throat as well?

If you have already done then, then chances are very good that you have already been exposed.
It is possible, that with each new partner you could possibly be exposed to new strains of HPV (that you currently have not been exposed to). One might keep that in mind when one is deciding whether to share sexual experiences with a new partner.
