I'd like to thank everybody on this board for advising me to ask my pm dr if I could try the fentanyl patchs instead of the buprenorphine that I'm currently using and having no pain releif at all with it. I rung my pm dr on wednesday after doing research on the fentanyl patches as advised by people on this board.
I got a letter from my pm dr in the post this morning saying that he is willing to try me on the fentanyl 25mcg patch, to be changed every 3 days.

(shame I had to research it and my pm dr didn't offer it to me, after all thats what they get paid for)

Anyway I've got to make an appointment with my GP on monday to get the patches & I was wondering do I have to wean myself of the buprenorphine before I got onto the fentanyl? If I do will I get withdrawal sypmtoms and how long does this usually take??

Thank you everybody for advising me about the fentanyl because if it wasn't for people of here I wouldn't of known about it & my pm dr wasn't going to offer it to me, so thank you everybody ;)
