I had something weird happen yesterday during my acupuncture treatment, and I'm hoping for thoughts. I was positioned face down, and during the treatment I kept getting these waves of shaking, starting in my upper back, moving to my shoulders and into my head. It would start as a tingle and get stronger. Each wave was stronger than the last. I kept trying to relax, and was able to relax between the waves, but the waves kept coming, I simply could not control it. By the end of the treatment I was visibly shaking in my head and shoulders. By the time I got home 45 mins later I was exhausted and drained. But during the late afternoon I felt like the edge had been taken off of the pain and spasms I normally experience in my neck, shoulders, etc.
I am used to the face-down position, I go for massage therapy and chiro on a regular basis and have never had an issue with that. I have had acupuncture many times, there was nothing unusual about that. I have to admit that it was really scary at the time. Now I'm just trying to be analytical and figure out what happened.
I am in the process of being referred to a movement disorder clinic for testing for muscle spasms in my shoulder, neck, jaw and face, and the only thing I can think of is maybe one of the points triggered the tremors?
Any thoughts would be great!

Did you mention it to the accupuncturist? He/she could probably explain what it was and why it happened.
