Does anyone get a tightness in your calves and sometimes your whole leg? I have kidney disease and have been searching the internet to see if there is a conncetion but have been unsuccessful.

Yes, the two could well be related and I think it is probably to do with your sodium level. I would assume that if you are on dialysis, then you have to limit your salt intake for blood pressure control purposes? Well, if you do this too much, then cramping and tightness in the muscles and particularly the calf muscles can occur. This problem can be solved by taking some Quinnine. This is normally an antimalarial drug, but it is very helpful for the control of muscular cramping. The other way is try including some more salt in your diet, so for a bit, add extra salt to your food and eat the odd packet of chips.

Try it and see if it solves the problem, however unfortunately, most things that happen can be related back to renal failure as its cause.
