Is it normal to feel sensitivity towards cold things after having a very small cavity filled? the filling took about 2 minutes to drill and fill, that's how minor it was! i had felt sensitivity before having the cavity filled (that's what brought me to the dentist in the first place). i thought it would go away after the filling was done, but it hasn't. It's almost 2 days since i had it done. please tell me if this is regular?

I had a small filling the other day, like yours, it only took a couple of minutes. I do feel some pain and sensitivity. Sometimes it can take weeks for this to go away for me. I guess it's due to alot of nerves being irritated. I'd give it a week or more before calling your dentist unless it gets worse.

I suffer from this too. My dentist recomended ibuprofen for 48hrs. (check first to see if you can take them). This has been successful on three seperate occassions. Hope it helps.
