Hello ladies!, just wanted to do a quick post after an appointment I had today with an nutritionist. Here's what he suggested I and others suffering with cervical dysplasia can take to help the cervical changes return to normal on their own.He also suggested short term usage of green tea in larger than normal doses(5X the normal dose) when you have an active HPV infection . In traditional chinese medicine green tea is cited in texts dating back thousands of years as a natural treatment for cancer so I suppose this makes sense.

Wow Jess! Thanks - I just looked up some of the other health benefits tied to green tea. Guess I need to break out my hot water pot!
Just checked the multivitamin I take. A lil low on the beta carotene and the folic acid.
I take fish oil with DHA/Vit E already because of high cholesterol in my family and thanks to my dentists, at his recommendation, I take enough vitamin C that I'm going to turn into an orange.
Something I learned with my teeth last year (had really bad gums) - vitamin C does WONDERS for rebuilding healthy tissue. My gums bounces back better than the dentists expected (I know a little off topic but personal experience on the benefits of vit C)

I knew about the folic acid, but I couldn't remember the other bottom 3 - though I knew I'd heard them before. I didn't know that about the beta-caratene (sp).
I wonder how helpful it is for those of us who don't have a cervix any more . . .

What would 5X the normal dosage of green tea be? (That sounds like a line from Dr. Suess...)

Hi everyone, I aslo wanted to add (you all may have heard about this already - or maybe not) but apparently there is a link between DIM (which is found in cruciferous vegetables - broccoli, bok choy, kale, etc.) and it's ability to help clear an active HPV infection.
Just thought I would throw that out there in case anyone was interested - if they hadn't already heard about it.

Thanks Simply!. I had indeed heard of the broccoli HPV thing by reading an anti cancer diet thing online. I think if anything good has come of this HPV thing with my it's that I eat healthier , take supplements and try to be healthier than I was before.

Just to add again to what Simplynat said, the DIM is a little trickier to find I think. I had been taking indole-3-carbinol, which is again cruciferous vegetable extracts, but not thought to be as good as DIM. Anyway, I finally found the DIM -- in my case, it was part of a product made to help with a woman's hormonal balance. My bottle is called "Estrobalance." Just thought that might help anyone who's searching for it.

Made a trip to the nearby health food store and had luck in finding Coriolus-PSP by MushroomScience. They also had a whole bunch of different mushroom extracts both in liquid and capsule format.
My guess is you also MIGHT be able to find DIM in some of the "green" whole food extracts out there. I know there are "red", "blue", and "green" formulas. Its like a rainbow of supplement bottles!

Lucky you! I tried to find some Coriolus this afternoon but had no luck. I shall try some other stores this week.

:bouncing::rolleyes:@ this rate I'm going to be stuffing myself with supplements.....:D....
Thanks for all the feedback ladies I had no idea about the mushroom thing. I tend to avoid them because of a *knock on wood* long term bacterial infection that I had for like a year on and off and mushrooms (fungi) have a tendency to further disrupt candida yeast and some bacteria...Why I dunno!. Strange thing is after the 2 CINIII lesions/colpo were removed the BV was BANG gone.....I suspect good 'ol HPV had a hand in that battle!

LOL, I had to take bags of this stuff to work to I don't have to take all my pills at once
And Jess, mushrooms are GREAT. I'm a huge mushroom pusher. (As I write that I realize that I work for a government agency that would be none to happy with me pushing certain kinds of mushrooms . . . and that they might be monitoring me right now . . . not those sorts of mushrooms guys . . . *waives*).
If you think about it, the whole point of mushrooms is to EAT BAD STUFF. I want them to eat up all the HPV inside of me!
