Recently the doctor found my creatinine to be slightly elevated. He has me on Benicar and hydrochlorothiazide and my blood pressure is great now. However, I read in my pill book that ALL blockers(benicar) and ACE meds can cause kidney reduction. Does anyone know why this is?? My creatinine was 1.4 and normal range is .5-1.2, so only slightly elevated. Some labs have .5-1.5 as being the norm.
