Hi, Im here because I don't know who to talk to anymore. No one around me seems to understand the condition and i feel like i just don't know what im doing anymore.

Diagnosed with PCOS in 2007 because my periods were always irregular and stuff. Had an ultrasound that year and a Laroscopy in 2008 to see what was going on.

Had a follow up last September they said my ovaries were very enlarged and she was suprised i was not in discomfort. Again they did nothing about it and said will see you in 8 months. I am on no medication, nothing, and my impression was because i wasnt ready to get pregnant they wernt going to help me!!

So now i have no idea what i am doing. I felt the only way they would help me was to tell them i wanted to get pregnant! Have been having unprotected sex for 6 months now with my boyfriend of 2 years. Im only 20 years old. I am really struggling with my weight, I am dieting and excersising and its not coming off. In fact ive put on weight recently and its really REALLY affecting my self esteem. Going swimming makes me cry because i hate myself in a costume.

I just feel i am so alone. My hormones are all over the place and I am constantly worrying about my fertility because no one has told me what my chances are.

Please help me xxx :dizzy:

Hi Honeybee,

I know what you are going through. I have been where you are and now I am back there to.

I was diagnosed when I was 16 and not one doctor that I went to told me what I needed to do. I started putting on weight and and missing my periods and having more hair growing in places that I knew as a girl it's not suppost to be there. So I didn't know what I was suppost to because no one told me how to deal with it. So I just tryed to go on as everything was normal.

After I got married and we started trying to have a baby I found myself running to get a pg test everytime I missed a cycle and I drove myself crazy.

Finally I found my then OBGYN and he started me on meds and he really tryed to help us. He then sent me to a fertility specialist that was also a PCOS specialist. This doctor put me on the Adkins diet and by the was it was so hard to. He then put me on meds and after a few month I got pregnant.

I now have a wonderful 6 year old son. Now I am back at square one. The PCOS specialist that helped me for years dropped my insurance and now I am trying to find a new doctor.

As for the last few years I have not been on any meds to controll my PCOS. I still struggle with lossing weight and the hair and also with acne. So I know what you are going through.

I am sorry to ramble on but I just wanted to let you know that it is going to get better.

It's good to keep dieting and excersising but I would tell you to also try and cut back on your carb intake. That is one that I struggle with. I love pasta to much.

I would really look to your primary doctor and ask them to help find you a doctor that deals with PCOS in you area. Also you can ask about seeing a Endocrinologist. They help with hormones and reproduction. Thats what I am waiting on from my insurance. You and goggle endocrinologist to find out more about what they do.

I don't want to sound like a mom or anything but there is still a chance that you could get pregnant so I would be careful with that.

I hope you find some cumfort and mabye a little bit of help with what I have shared. Tell your doctor that you need more help and information with your PCOS.

Once again good luck.
