I have a question. What would some of you consider an"attack"from a kidney stone?Do you keel over in pain and wish for medical intervention or do you bear with it hoping it finishes quickly and rub the painful area?A couple days ago I had kidney stone pain for 10hrs straight with no waves, just straight sharp pain under my ribs and back and I dealt with it the best I could.Until I spoke to someone today that said if and when I get an'attack"that I should go to emergency and be dealt with and that emerg takes you right away.Has anyone ever done this before?I haven't because I think there's more people that need the attention more than me,so just wondering what you think?

A kidney stone can give you bouts of pain over a long period of time while it remains in the kidney.. Right now I’ve known about a kidney stone in my kidney for 9 months. Until it begins to move nothing will be done about it. Now.. I do feel discomfort and pain at least 50% of the time, sometimes worse than others, sometimes it lasts day and night for a couple of days, very annoying but not excruciating. If I sleep too long on that side I can hardly move upon awakening to turn over. Now.. in February I did have another stone move out of my other kidney and the pain was so intense I could not have driven to the hospital (I have great tolerance to pain) , it took my all to just walk, I even had trouble breathing because of the pain, .there is no way I could have not gone to the hospital (they ended up zapping it) If you’ve read up on it you would know it is compared to labor and heart attack etc.. Hope this helps you. Karon
