Does anyone else get this when they on thier monthly cycle where thier kidney's eigther hurt or ahce more at this time of the month as mine seem to or are we at this time at more risk of infection .

I just did not no if there was a conection because i do have a shriveld r and an enlarged l kidney,but still waiting for an appionment to see specialist
Anyway i will try there also

During your period you can be at more risk of infections such as cystitis due to bacteria migrating from the vagina to the bladder and possibly vice versa.
Also, during your period it is really not that uncommon to have lower back ache either at the beginning or before. The low back pain does not necessarily have to be connected with your kidneys though. A lot of women have a retroversion of the uterus that can cause this before periods. This is normal physiology in about 80% of women.
If you already have kidney problems, then it could be linked to this, otherwise it is normal to experience a little of this before and in the beginning days of a period.

The pain/ahce is actually in the kidney it self luckerly i have never had prob's my periods untill James was born and even then they are only alittle heavier than before no pain etc.
