This is going to sound foolish but here goes...
Last week, I forget which night, I dropped my pill down the drain (I've been on the pill for about 5 years and never have completely missed a pill before). Luckily (or so I thought at the time) it didn't go completely down the drain and I was able to fish it out. My drain was kind of icky so I washed the pill off as best I could and threw it in my mouth and swigged some water. Right after I thought to myself that it felt like I never had anything in my mouth.
Cut to today, I was cleaning my bathroom and I found the pill on the floor!! I don't know what the heck happened. So, basically, I missed a pill and didn't even know it...until now. Since I can't remember which day this happened, I can't recall if I had intercourse that day (I had unprotected sex with my BF one night last week but I can't remember if this was before or after the pill falling down the drain). I did have unprotected sex yesterday. And now...I'm really worried. How worried should I be?

Also, not that it probably matters now...but I took the pill when I found it. I have yet to take my normal pill for today and will do that later tonight.

You should be okay. Usually the way the pill works is that you are no longer protected if you miss 3 days in a row. As long as you take them the way you are supposed to every day, missing 1 should not be a problem. If you are really worried about it, just get a test and make sure everything is okay, you don't want to stress yourself out. :)

Thanks, Berry. It's too soon to get a test to ease my anxiety. I wound up calling Planned Parenthood for advice and I wound up getting Plan B. It was a lot of money for peace of mind but as made me a little...just a little...bit less stressed.

I don't think plan B is necessary.Missing one pill does increase your risk of pregnancy , but not by much as long as you doubbled your pill the next day. there are usually instructions in your birth control pack. I wouldn't be to concerned maybe use protection for the next week or so just to be safe.
