I am new here..so here goes. For the past yr. I have had traces of bood in my urine along with back pain. I had an IVP done last yr. and it came back neg. Shortly there after I passed what I thought was a b.b. size stone. I told the dr. and I just got a look and an "OH, really". The only person who recognized that it was a stone was the nurse. In any case, now my back hurts (low) along with discomfort in the r-flank...sometimes down the r-side by the ovary. The pain is not extreme but does cause waves of slight nausea then goes away. The dr. gave me a funnel to urinate into and its been showing tiny tiny granular sand or crystals. Had anIVP done again this past Thurs. have not gotten results back yet.

Has anyone had this happen to them. This crystal/sand thing has been going on for a couple of weeks.

I am also dealing with constipation to boot.....could this (what ever it is) cause that to happen? Did read somewhere that constipation could be another symptom of a stone. This whole thing is stressing me out.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanx

You may have gotten your results by now, but if not I hope you are drinking plenty of water. You should be drinking one gallon/day at the very least. Some say they take their body weight and divide that by 2 and that result is how many ounces of water you should drink/day.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I did get the results back from the IVP and they were neg. I have been drinkig water and cranberry juice. I am a huge soda drinker but have decided to stop that. Haven't had one in a couple of weeks and oddly enough the constipation has subsided (thankfully). When I as drinking soda I would also drink water and the constipation would still be there. Eliminating the soda altogether has done the trick at least for now. (Soda was almost always caffine free). If this helps anyone else I'll be happy!!!!!!
