I'm a 22 year old male and my Mother has discoid lupus. I recently went tanning before a spring break trip to the Caribbean and I noticed a rash very similar to my Mother's lupus rash after she is exposed to sun rays. She typically doesnt get the classic butterfly rash on her face but gets a scaly rash on her upper arms and chest. The rash i got was on my chest and I was just wondering how concerned I should be about having Lupus and whether or not I should seek testing for the disease?
