Hi i'm 23 years old and i'm worried i've got stomach cancer as i've read a lot of things on the internet about it.
What the problem i started to have a sore chest just below my breast bone 3 weeks ago but that passed but then the following Monday i woke up with pains in my stomach that are really sore i've been to to the doctors about this problem 3 times but they just dismiss my concerns about stomach cancer my symtoms about my sore stomach are it's just constant pain in my stomach i can still eat and drink no problem but its sore in my stomach, and just in the middle of my stomach and the pain doesnt go away and i'm passing gas all the time and very frequently and i've never had this before but other than that i've no other symptoms and i just get worked up and got into my head i've got stomach cancer and i'm afraid i will die young.
I just don't know what to do and if anybody has the same symptoms or think they can help me in anyway it would be much appreciated to put my mind at rest.
Also is it common for young people to get stomach cancer??

You probably have a stomach virus.
Eat bland food, dont eat too late at night, not too much alchohol. Ease up for a few days and you will see it pass. If it doesnt, go back to the Doctor and insist on further tests. Be firm with him/her.

does not sound like stomach cancer to me at all. it sounds to me that you may have acid reflux, the pain in the chest and stomach and the gas are all common symptoms.
try to take pepcid ac before meals, and keep an eye on what you eat, perhaps staying off fried fatty foods, chocolate, coffee,tomatoes, oranges might help. you follow your diet and see if you feel worse when you have certain foods this way you will know.
go back to your doctor and ask him to do an upper gi and a small bowel, this will most likely give you some answers. you do not sound like you have the symptoms of stomach cancer so stop worrying and go to the doctor and get to the bottom of what's going on.

It may be a symptom of either Crohn's disease or Celiac Disease. These are inflammatory conditions of the digestive tract. I agree with the others, it does not sound like stomach cancer; if you had this for so long you would be more obviously sick by now. Stop eating dairy and wheat products for a while - these things will aggravate an inflamed gut. Look up a gluten-free diet, or diet specific for Crohn's, it may make you feel a lot better quite soon. Hi, doesn't sound like stomach cancer to me either. What is your diet like? Have you been eating fast foods, processed foods, etc. as they can make a person sick and cause a toxic body.
My younger brother (49 years old) has cancer and the specialist he will be seeing concentrates not only on various treatments, but diet and state of mind (the mind is a powerful tool).
So think positive okay and stay away from those junk foods!

Hi! My name is Gary I'm 46 years old and your symtoms are very simialr to mine.
I haq a upper undo in december and was ok but got worse and just had a second upper endo and cancer has been found in a byopsy...I'm freaking out! they want to remove my entire stomach but are not sure if it has spread...so they have me setup for a deal where they put you out and stick a camera in my belly buttom area and acully look at my organs, ct scan is clean except on spot along side my colan that they cant tell. So they what to do this, if I'm clean inside and cnacer has not spread i will wake up with and big scare no stomach as they will go ahaed and remove it, If i wake with just the holes in my belly from the camera it has spread and I'm in real trouble!
Don't wait another day go to a digestive health doctor and have him take a look inside your stomach and get byopsy...

Dont read too much into muddfish's post. Although it is sad and scary for him, you shouldnt panic because he says your symptoms are the same as his. There are many symptoms that mimic cancer symptoms. You are young, and i would hazard a guess this isnt cancer.
Go check it out but DO NOT panick yourself by that post. No offence muddfish, but this poster is scared enough and probably doesnt need to read your symptoms are the same and that yours is cancer. Check it out forst before you worry, dont assume because your symptoms are similiar you definately have cancer.

Hey Guys i've been to the doctor and he's sent me for blood tests for helicobacter pylori but my stomach is ok now so i'm getting the results back in tuesday and thanks everyone there comments so much appreciated.

Dont read too much into muddfish's post. Although it is sad and scary for him, you shouldnt panic because he says your symptoms are the same as his. There are many symptoms that mimic cancer symptoms. You are young, and i would hazard a guess this isnt cancer.
Go check it out but DO NOT panick yourself by that post. No offence muddfish, but this poster is scared enough and probably doesnt need to read your symptoms are the same and that yours is cancer. Check it out forst before you worry, dont assume because your symptoms are similiar you definately have cancer.
I can only wish someone would have been straight forward with me and told me what my symtoms sounded like.....Thank God I was smart enough NOT to listen to those telling me it just sounds like acid reflux or muscle spasams bla.. bla.. bla... I heard it all from all the arm chair doctors. I took myself to the digestive health doctor and had the upper endo taking tissue byopsy...blood test are fine but not the final word!
I'm not trying to scare anyone, but if that is what the truth does and it makes someone go to the right doctor instead of ignoreing thier symtoms then I think God will forgive me.
I will add it is extremly reckless to go online and make diagnoses of opinion that may make some pepole believe that they are fine and decide not to see a doctor. And then to do it in the name of trying make them feel better, thats the doctors job.
