View Full Version : Adult Tonsillectomy - Asymmetical Healing Question

Hi all! I'm 26-years-old and had a tonsillectomy on March 5, which I suppose places me on day 9 of recovery. My recovery has actually been uneventful - no bleeding, pain has been manageable, and I've been eating soft foods since day 1 with no loss of taste. However, I've been noticing lately that the left side of my throat is more scabbed and much larger than the right. Is this a normal part of the healing process? Please advise - follow up with ENT is not until Friday!

Update: For anyone else who was curious if healing asymmetrically was normal, it apparently is. I had my follow-up with my ENT today, and he said that I was healing great. :)
