Hi, I'm 47 yrs old and I think I might be going through the first stages of menopause. I had a period 1 week ago and it's completely over, but the bloating and breast tenderness are still there. I look like I'm 5 months pregnant! My gynocologist said that my stomach shouldn't be that big and she thinks it's a gastro problem. I have to question that because the bloating and tenderness only occur when pmsing and lately it's been occuring after my period is over.

Hi, yea me too. I'm 47 almost 48 and I have been getting tender breasts for weeks now. I dont menstruate as I have the mirena coil but I still usually know when I would be due a period. I am bloated as well so I guess it's symptomatic of the menopause. I started doing lower abdomen crunches but even that doesn't work! I still look pregnant. This happened to me first about two months ago and then wore off, this time its back and seems to be lasting. Oh well here we go, good luck and all that !

I started having alot of symptoms of peri-menopause 5 yrs ago, but the bloating has gotten worse in the last few months. I haven't had very many problems with breast tenderness tho, thank goodness. I have looked 5 months pregnant ever since I started going thru this 5 yrs ago, but have lost weight everywhere else, it seems. Doesn't make sense to me, but guess it's normal. I feel for you both.
