Hi thanks in advance for reading and offering your advice. I have guardianship of my sister who is 30yo with mild retardation. She had her gallbladder removed because it was only functioning at 15%. This was done a mth ago. She is occasionaly having pain under her right rib in the back. It started hurting when she woke up this morning and when I pushed in that area she said it was tender. My concern is that it may be her liver. One of the reasons I am afraid of this is because she had a melanoma removed from her back a few years ago that they had to dig pretty deep to get all of. BUT the lab results showed all margins were clear from the 2nd removal. Also when her doc removed the GB thru lapro he said she had alot of scar tissue around it but from what he could tell the liver seemed okay. She had numerous scans when we were trying to figure out what the problem was before we did the hida scan and they didn't say anything about liver problems. She has had the usual blood work with liver included but not the extensive liver work up that they sometimes do but they were normal. So my question is should I request a further liver work up or I guess its possible that its bile duct problems that people sometimes have or odi disfuction or something like that. Please someone give me some advise. Thank you sooo much!!
