If it is herpes simplex 1 or 2 then yes, although HSV-2 can also cause anal itching. Herpes zoster (shingles) occurs mainly on the torso.

Herpes zoster is related to the chicken pox virus. It usually breaks out on the torso around 30-40 years after the occurrence of chicken pox and usually only occurs once.
