Hi All, Im a 44 yr old male who has gone through hell for the last 2 years.
I was just diagnosed with H2 but for 2 years have been treated for anal fissures. I went through several sugeries to remove what doctors thought were blistered caused by anal fissures. Finally after being really stressed one day a new GP asked me to take a test and it came out positive. That was Feb 26th.
Unfortunately, I contacted this through my wife who has had "fever sores" since she was a kid. Who knew those sores would someday cause me so much pain.
I wont take up to much of your time but if someone can give me some ancwers it would greatly help.
1- Until I found out I had H2 all i got was a small blister on my anus once every few months. It would break and within hours i would fell better. No burn or itching. Now, the tip of my penis burns and itches all the time.
Can this be because I am more stressed out then usually? Does more stress and anxiety bring out harsher outbreaks?

2-I took Valtrex for 6 days and felt good. Once I stopped that when this burning started. Is it normal that an out break 2 years later would be worse than the initial out break? Can it be that I just contacted this recently. SORRY...As you all know I am so confused by all that has happened

3- Ihave done nothing but sleep and cry the last 10 days. I feel so alone and depressed. I dont feel like me at all anymore. I use to exercise and run , now I feel like whats the use. Does this ever go away. Will I ever find the person I was just a month ago?

Sorry for running on.

This is a very tangled story. HSV-1 & 2 both erupt by causing blisters at the site of infection. HSV-1 mainly affects the mouth and HSV-2 mainly affects the genitals. However, they can both affect either area. For you to have HSV-2 affecting the anus suggests contact in that area with the infected area of an infected person.
You say that your wife has always had 'fever sores' presumably around the mouth and therefore most likely HSV-1.
The fact that you now have burning and itching on the tip of your penis does not necessarily mean you have HSV there. Logically, it would have blistered if it was HSV. It could be a yeast or bacterial infection.
You should maybe study a bit more about the nature of HSV infection because some elements of your story are confusing. One important thing to know is that HSV can remain dormant for many years so it is quite possible that you contracted it in your younger days and the stress has now allowed it to erupt.
